PURPOSE: A composition for promoting biosynthesis of protopanaxadiol is provided to quickly prepare a large amount of protopanaxadiol, and to promote biosynthesis of ginseng saponin.CONSTITUTION: A composition for promoting biosynthesis of protopanaxadiol contains CYP716A47 protein or CYP716A47 gene encoding the protein. The protein contains an amino acid sequence in sequence number 2. The composition contains a recombinant vector or plasmid containing CYP716A47 gene. The composition enhances synthesis of protopanaxadiol in dammarenediol II through activation of dammarenediol 12-hydroxylase.
