The invention generally relates to novel polymers (SMAMPs) and their syntheses and use. The polymers exhibit promising properties of AMPs. In particularly, for example, a ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) platform was developed that allows syntheses of SMAMPs that employ a minimum number of norbornene-based building blocks and/or enable easy and independent variation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups in the monomer units and/or along the polymeric backbone to finetune and select desirable properties of the polymers.본 발명은 일반적으로 신규한 중합체(SMAMP) 및 이의 합성 및 용도에 관한 것이다. 상기 중합체는 AMP의 유망한 특성을 나타낸다. 특히, 예를 들어 SMAMP의 합성을 가능하게 하는 개환 상호교환반응형 중합(ROMP) 플랫폼이 개발되었으며, 상기 플랫폼은 최소한 수의 노보넨계 빌딩 블록(building block)을 이용하고/이용하거나 단량체 단위에서 및/또는 중합체 주쇄를 따라서 소수성 및 친수성 기의 용이하고 독립적인 변형을 가능하게 하여 중합체의 바람직한 특성을 미세조정하고 선택할 수 있게 한다.
