PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of dyeing the hair which excels in the hair dyeing effect and quickly, uniformly, and efficiently dyes the hair without damaging the skin and the hair even with the use of a photosensitive hair dye containing a silver salt having low solubility in water and the like.SOLUTION: The method of dyeing the hair comprises using a photosensitive hair dye containing one or more silver salts selected from the group consisting of silver nitrate, silver lactate, and silver citrate with the use of a container equipped with a rubber latex sponge having a thickness of 5-30 mm and an apparent density of 0.1-0.3 g/cm3 at the discharge part.
