PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article using a pore-opened nonwoven fabric in a clearly pore-opened state as a surface sheet, the pore-opened nonwoven fabric having no heat-seal portions formed around pores and no high fiber-density area formed thereon.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 includes an absorber 4 interposed between a liquid-permeable surface sheet 3 and a backside sheet 2 consisting of nonwoven fabrics. At least at an area including a humor discharge part H of a wearer, the liquid-permeable surface sheet 3 includes multiple oblique cuts 3b formed in a previous state of being assembled in the absorbent article. When the absorbent article 1 is assembled, the cuts 3b are opened on both sides adjacent to the humor discharge part H, by tensile force generated by application of a fit embossment 16 along the longitudinal direction from the surface side. The length of the cuts 3b is 0.1-10 mm, and an inclination angle is ±20-±70° with respect to the width direction of the absorbent article.
