A tourniquet article comprising a base, a cap disposed on said base, a strap having one free end and one end attached to said base, a buckle attached to said base, a handle with an aperture to accommodate a portion of said strap, a ring attached to said base positioned adjacent to said base, wherein said tourniquet article is positioned around a limb, wherein said free end of said strap is pulled through both said ring and said handle aperture whereby said article is initially tightened around the limb, wherein said handle is turned until adequate pressure is applied to the limb, and wherein once adequate pressure is applied to the limb, one end of said handle is inserted into said ring to secure the tightened tourniquet in place.Linvention concerne un garrot comprenant une base, une coiffe disposée sur la base, une bande possédant une extrémité libre et une extrémité fixée sur la base, une boucle fixée sur la base, un manche comprenant une ouverture destinée à loger une partie de la bande, un anneau fixé sur la base et positionné de manière adjacente à celle-ci, le garrot étant positionné autour dun membre, lextrémité libre de la bande étant tirée à travers lanneau et louverture du manche de manière que le garrot soit, dans un premier temps, serré autour du membre, le manche étant tourné jusquà ce que la pression adéquate soit appliquée sur le membre et, une fois la pression adéquate appliquée sur le membre, une extrémité du manche étant introduite dans lanneau, afin de fixer le garrot serré en place.
