The present invention relates to a novel process for manufacturing a sugar acid for the use in the agricultural market as an adjuvant wherein the process includes the following steps of providing a reactor and introducing a source of nitric acid, water and a source of starch into the reactor to form a mixture and further includes introducing an external heat source to the mixture to ascertain a mixture temperature of at least 70°C and discontinuing the external heat source once the mixture reaches about 70°C； and further enabling an internal heat source in the form of an exothermic reaction to occur between the reagents for at least two (2) hours. The invention also relates to the use of the product as obtained from the process.La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé de fabrication d'un acide de sucre utilisable sur le marché agricole en tant qu'adjuvant, le procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes consistant à fournir un réacteur et à introduire une source d'acide nitrique, de l'eau et une source d'amidon dans le réacteur de façon à former un mélange et consistant également à introduire une source de chaleur externe au mélange de façon à déterminer une température de mélange d'au moins 70 °C et à interrompre la source de chaleur externe une fois que le mélange atteint environ 70 °C ； et à permettre également à une source de chaleur interne sous forme d'une réaction exothermique de se produire entre les réactifs durant au moins deux (2) heures. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation du produit tel qu'obtenu à partir du procédé.
