The present invention relates to a functional mushroom cultivation method using a sawdust medium. According to the present invention, the functional mushroom cultivation method using the sawdust medium vitalizes a starter inoculated in a medium and prevents pollution of various germs. The functional mushroom cultivation method also promotes the growth of mushrooms and increases crop, thereby helping increase the income of a mushroom farm. The functional mushroom cultivation method comprises a head unit, a pin unit, and an insertion protrusion unit in an inoculation step of the mushroom starter. Multiple starter insertion holes are connected to multiple air inflow grooves in a starter insertion unit, and the starter insertion unit is installed along the circumference of the pin unit having the air inflow groove at the center. So, the starter insertion unit is conveniently fixed in a single insertion hole type to be inserted into the inner center of a sawdust medium unit. Therefore, the starter is conveniently inoculated on the sawdust medium. Also, oxygen is smoothly supplied, and carbon dioxide is smoothly discharged. Therefore, work efficiency on the starter inoculation is increased, and cultivation rapidly proceeds. So, productivity is improved. A depth inserted into the sawdust medium on the starter when the insertion unit is embedded into the sawdust medium is maintained to be consistent. So, a survival percent of the mushroom and quality of the mushroom can be improved. Also, the oxygen supply and the discharge of gas generated inside are facilitated on the starter inoculated to the sawdust medium. The functional mushroom cultivation method removes the pollution of falling germs due to contact with external air in a starter inoculation unit and does not need a work of drilling a hole with an awl around the whole circumference of the medium and the inoculation unit as an oxygen amount and a carbon dioxide discharge amount are increased during a process of cultiv
