Methods and systems include an aspiration probe that includes a docking section. The docking section comprises a docking inner cavity configured to transport bone marrow. An outside surface of the docking section is tapered from a first diameter to a second diameter such that, when the aspiration probe is configured to be inserted into a hole formed in a bone, the outside surface of the docking section is configured to form a substantial seal against the hole in the bone based at least upon the diameter of the hole being smaller than the first diameter and larger than the second diameter.
