PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article hardly giving a sense of discomfort to a wearer and capable of easily opening a leakage preventive pocket when the absorbent article is used.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 comprises a vertically long absorbent body 11 having an absorbent layer 12 and a leakage preventive layer 16 a pair of side leakage preventive sheets 15 and 15 disposed on both sides of the absorbent body 11 on the skin contact surface side and a pair of wing parts 2 and 2 to be extended outward in the cross direction from the absorbent body 11. The leakage preventive pocket 4 is formed between each side leakage preventive sheet 15 and the absorbent layer 12 to open toward the center in the cross direction of the absorbent body 11. The absorbent body 11 has a high-rigidity region 11H in the center in the cross direction with higher rigidity than other regions located on either side. The absorbent body 11 is folded in the longitudinal direction along folding lines L1 and L2 crossing all the leakage preventive pocket 4, wing parts 2 and high-rigidity region 11H, and is packaged in this state.
