The present invention relates to silk fibroin with a high molecular weight that has the property of lowering blood sugar and cholesterol, and a method of producing same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition which contains high-molecular silk fibroin having an average molecular weight (Da) of 190 000 to 400 000 as an active ingredient for lowering blood sugar and cholesterol, and a method of producing the composition. According to the present invention, high-molecular silk fibroin exhibits superior effects of lowering blood sugar and cholesterol than low-molecular silk fibroin peptide, and thus the composition of the present invention can be usefully used to manufacture functional foods and medicines for treating or preventing diabetes, obesity, or hyperlipidemia. Also, since a process of reducing the molecular weight of fibroin can be skipped which must be performed using conventional production methods of silk protein, the present invention has the advantage of reducing overall production costs.La présente invention concerne de la fibroïne de soie de poids moléculaire élevé ayant comme propriété dabaisser le taux de sucre et de cholestérol dans le sang, et un procédé de production de celle-ci. Plus particulièrement, la présente invention concerne une composition contenant de la fibroïne de soie de poids moléculaire élevé ayant un poids moléculaire moyen (Da) situé dans la plage allant de 190 000 à 400 000 comme principe actif, destinée à abaisser le taux de sucre et de cholestérol dans le sang, et un procédé de production de la composition.
