PURPOSE: A composition containing insect glycosaminoglycan is provided to prevent or treat fatty liver or hyperlipidemia. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating fatty liver contains insect-derived glycosaminoglycan as an active ingredient. The insect is selected from the group consisting of silkworm, Gymnopleurus mopsus, Paecilomyces sinclairii, Velarifictorus asperses, Bombus ignites, Bomyx mori, Poecilocoris lewisi, and Protaetis brevitarsis. The fatty liver is alcoholic or non-alcoholic fatty liver. A composition for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia contains insect-derived glycosaminoglycan as an active ingredient.
