The present invention relates to the use of cystamine analogues for the treatment of Parkinsons disease. The present invention also relates to the use of composition comprising cystamine analogues and cysteine. The present invention relates to a method for modifying the progression of Parkinsons disease comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of at least one cystamine analogue or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of a cystamine analogue to a patient in need thereof.
