PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mattress with a novel structure, capable of improving the usability and effectively preventing bedsore by dispersing body pressure and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: The mattress includes: a plurality of cells 24 disposed on top of a body pressure acting surface of a base body 28 for supporting a human body and a pressure adjusting means 50 for changing and setting the height of each cell 24 by adjusting the pressure of a fluid chamber 42 formed within the cell 24.
