PURPOSE: A primer for analyzing green tea species and method for discerning green tea species using the same are provided to efficiently and simply discern domestic wile green tea, domestic cultivation green tea and Japanese green tea. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for analyzing green tea species contains forward primer and reverse primer having sequence of 10-30 serial bases to 5S rRNA(ribosomal RNA). The primer set contains base sequence of sequence numbers 1 and 2. A primer set for analyzing green tea species contains forward primer and reverse primer having sequence of 10-30 serial bases which are complementary to phenylalanine ammonia ligase, chalcone synthase or dihydroflavonol 4-reductase gene.
