PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-traveling type endoscope in which a curve part can be curved in a desired direction and an insertion part can be automatically inserted into a conduit stably without imposing loads on the insertion propulsion member of a flexible part.
SOLUTION: The self-traveling type endoscope 2 is provided with the insertion part to be automatically inserted into the conduit. The insertion part is provided with the curve part 9 and the flexible part 151 positioned more on the proximal end side in the inserting direction S of the insertion part than the curve part 9 and provided with a spiral shape part for making the insertion part travel by itself. A balloon fixing part 48 more on the distal end side in the inserting direction S than the flexible part 151 in the insertion part and at the proximal end part of the curve part 9 or more on the proximal end side than the curve part 9 is provided with a balloon 100 projected in the radial direction of the insertion part radially more than the curve part 9 to be in contact with an inner wall inside the conduit.
