#$%^&*AU2017203856A120180104.pdf#####9 ABSTRACT A measuring apparatus to determine, for a grain storage unit such as a silo 1, the intensity of infestation by grain infesting insects in grain stored in the grain storage unit is disclosed. The apparatus includes a perforated tube 17 having upper and lower ends, a funnel 20 located adjacent the lower end and leading therefrom into a receptacle 25. The tube, funnel and receptacle together constitute a trap for the grain infecting insects when said tube is substantially submerged in the grain. An endoscopic style camera 11 associated with the tube and including a light source, is aimed at the interior of the base of the receptacle, and a cable for 30 camera extends from the tube to a transmitting controller 14 for the camera. Image(s) of insects trapped in the receptacle can be captured and the image(s) transmitted to a location remote from said grain silo. The images can be still images taken at spaced apart times, e.g. daily, or can be video images.
