A capsule endoscope apparatus is configured to be introduced into a subject, and includes: an imaging unit configured to image an inside of the subject to generate and read image data of the inside of the subject a shared coil configured to transmit or receive radio waves a function switching unit configured to switch between an image transmitting function in which the shared coil transmits the image data through the radio waves outside the capsule endoscope apparatus, and a driving function in which the shared coil receives the radio waves applied from outside to start or stop the capsule endoscope apparatus and a switching controller configured to control the function switching unit so as to switch from the driving function to the image transmitting function at a timing when the imaging unit completes reading of the image data.
