PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated and granulated seed which is spherical, has high germination rate and can fulfill coating/granulating for a short time.SOLUTION: The coated and granulated seed is formed spherically with a coating layer on the surface of the seed, and the coating layer is characterized by including hydrophobic inorganic particles. The inorganic particle is preferably a particle consisting essentially of at least one of silicon oxide and titanium oxide. Furthermore, the inorganic particle is preferably a noncrystalline particle. Besides, the inorganic particle preferably has a 10-1000 nm primary particle diameter and is aggregated to form a secondary particle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】球状であって、しかも高い発芽率を有し、短時間で被覆造粒ができる被覆造粒種子を提供する。【解決手段】種子の表面に被覆層が形成された球状の被覆造粒種子であって、前記被覆層が疎水性の無機粒子を含有することを特徴とする。ここで、前記無機粒子はケイ素酸化物及びチタン酸化物の少なくとも一方を主成分とする粒子であるのが好ましい。また、前記無機粒子は非晶質の粒子であるのが好ましい。そしてまた、前記無機粒子は１０ｎｍ～１０００ｎｍの一次粒子径を有し、凝集して二次粒子を形成しているのが好ましい。【選択図】図１
