This invention relates to the treatment of autoimmune diseases with a combination of a B cell specific agent and a DNA antigen specific therapeutic agent encoding a self protein associated with the autoimmune disease. More specifically, the present invention provides a combination of a B cell specific agent, such as an antibody with a DNA antigen specific therapeutic agent, such as a DNA plasmid vector encoding an autoantigen associated the autoimmune disease.
