The present invention relates to a composition for treating or preventing obesity containing a hizikia fusiforme extract as an active ingredient and a method for preparing the same. The hizikia fusiforme extract, as an active ingredient of the present invention, may be obtained through the steps of: manufacturing a hizikia fusiforme hot water extract； obtaining supernatant of the hizikia fusiforme extract； and obtaining the supernatant of the hizikia fusiforme extract by performing an ethanol precipitation process for the supernatant of the hizikia fusiforme extract, and removing precipitate. The hizikia fusiforme extract, obtained by the method of the present invention, is completed by confirming excellent effects of inhibiting the differentiation of preadipocyte (3T3-L1) into a fat cell and of inhibiting the accumulation of fat cells in the supernatant of the hizikia fusiforme extract, unlike precipitate obtained by ethanol precipitation from general marine plants, containing polysaccharides of marine plants, has various functionalities. Therefore, the hizikia fusiforme hot water extract does not have cytotoxicity； does not cause a side effect by using only natural and edible materials； and can be widely used for treating or preventing obesity due to having the effects of treating, improving, and preventing obesity.본 발명은 톳 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 비만 치료 또는 예방용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 유효성분인 톳 추출물은 톳 열수 추출물을 제조하는 단계； 상기 톳 열수 추출물의 상층액을 수득하는 단계 및 상기 톳 열수 추출물의 상층액에 대해 에탄올 침전을 수행하고, 침전물을 제거하여 상층액을 수득하는 단계를 수행하여 수득한 것일 수 있다. 본 발명은 상기 본 발명의 제조방법에 의해 수득된 톳 추출물이 일반적인 해조류가 에탄올 침전에 의해 수득된 해조류 다당류가 포함된 에탄올 침전에 의해 제조된 침전물이 여러 기능성을 가지는 것과 달리, 상층액에서 전구지방세포(3T3-L1)의 지방세포로의 분화 억제능 및 지방세포의 축적 억제능이 현저하게 우수한 것을 확인하여 완성한 것으로, 상기 본 발명의 제조방법에 의해 제조된 톳 열수 추출물은 세포 독성이 없고, 천연물질과 식용 가능한 용매만을 사용한 것으로 부작용의 문제가 발생되지 아니하며, 비만의 치료, 개선 또는 예방 효과가 있으므로, 비만을 치료 또는 예방하기 위하여 널리 사용될 수 있다.
