A surgical ligation clip and method of operation is described that includes an upper jaw member and a bottom jaw member that are joined at the hinge compartment for movement about the hinge compartment. The hinge section may be offset or spaced laterally from one or both of the jaw members. Also described are the tooth arrangement and its distribution, as well as closure and jaw end engagement configurations for easier engagement / puncture with, for example, a bond or other tissue.
