Embodiments of systems and methods for a simplified interface are disclosed.More specifically, embodiments ofmodes of interaction with a surgical console may be provided such that thesemodes of interaction limit or curtail the range of functionalitywhich may be adjusted. In particular, certain embodiments may present one ormore interfaces for user interaction whichallow a user to select from a set of preprogrammed options, where theinterface or the set of preprogrammed options may correspondto the mode in which a user is interacting with the surgical console. Each ofthese preprogrammed options may correspondto settings for one or more parameters such that by selecting a preprogrammedoption the surgical console is configured accordingto these settings.
