The process for the reclamation of soils which have been destroyed by coal mining provides levelling of the soil, the incorporation of a fertiliser which contains organic carbon and of a humin preparation (humus preparation), loosening of the soils, sowing plant seeds, inoculation of the surface of the abovementioned soils with a bacteria preparation in which, according to the invention, there are used, as fertiliser, carbon waste material and/or a 0.3-0.8% strength aqueous phenol solution and in which a humin preparation (humus preparation) is incorporated into the fertiliser-treated soils which contains 26-65% by weight of humic acids and 2.0-16% by weight of carboxylic acids which have been produced by the bacteria Pseudomonas and Bacillus, the bacterial preparation used for inoculation being a preparation containing Azotobacter bacteria.
