The present invention relates to the preparation of an equivalent epidermis capable of pigmenting comprising cells derived from the differentiation of cells in the matrix, as well as to the equivalent epidermis obtained. The present invention also relates to reconstructed skin capable of pigmenting and possibly comprising hair follicles, comprising said epidermis equivalent, its preparation process and its use for evaluating the effect of topical cosmetic, pharmaceutical or dermatological products. The skin reconstructed according to the invention could also be used for the preparation of grafts intended to be transplanted into mammals, more particularly onto human patients such as burn victims.La présente invention se rapporte à la préparation d'un épiderme équivalent capable de se pigmenter comprenant des cellules issues de la différentiation des cellules de la matrice, ainsi qu'à l'épiderme équivalent obtenu. La présente invention se rapporte également à une peau reconstruite capable de se pigmenter et comprenant éventuellement des follicules pileux, comprenant ledit équivalent d'épiderme, son procédé de préparation et son utilisation pour évaluer l'effet de produits topiques cosmétique, pharmaceutique ou dermatologique. La peau reconstruite selon l'invention pourra encore être utilisée pour la préparation de greffons destinés à être transplantés sur des mammifères, plus particulièrement sur des patients humains tels que des grands brûlés.
