PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely fasten a fishing line using a fishing line tying aid.SOLUTION: The fishing line tying aid 1 includes arms, seat units, a spool shaft, holding bodies, and operating bodies. The pair of arms 10 are turnable about a connected inner end portion and between a closed position where outer end portions move close to each other and an open position where the outer end portions move away from each other. The seat units 20 are provided at an end of each arm 10. The spool shaft 30 axially slidably penetrates the seat unit 20. The holding body 40 is secured at one end of the spool shaft 30. The operating body 50 is attached to the other end of the spool shaft 30. When the operating body is rotated in forward and reverse directions, the spool shaft 30 slides in forward and reverse directions. Thus, the holding body 40 moves a fishing line wound on the spool shaft 30, between a pinching position where the fishing line is held between the holding body and the seat unit 20, and a release position where the holding of the fishing line is canceled.
