PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a histone adsorbent and a device for purification of liquid derived from a living organism in which a histone in the liquid derived from the living organism can be removed efficiently.SOLUTION: An adsorbent is provided for removing a histone from a liquid derived from a living organism. The adsorbent is water insoluble and has a ligand connected to a water insoluble carrier, the ligand that has a hydrocarbon chain and/or a cyclic organic compound portion and the charge of 0 or more. Also, a device for purification of the liquid derived from the living organism is provided for removing the histone from the liquid derived from the living organism. The device for purification of the liquid derived from the living organism has a housing with an inlet and an outlet of the liquid derived from the living organism, and the adsorbent stored in the housing.
