PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good plunger rod assembly. A syringe for storing and delivering fluid is provided that includes (1) a stop and (2) a plunger rod assembly. The plunger rod assembly includes a plunger rod and a threaded member at the plunger engaging end. The stop may be formed of an elastic material. The stop has an outer surface and a lumen. The lumen of the stop may have a generally frustoconical shape with at least one engagement surface. The threaded member contacts at least one engagement surface within the lumen of the stop and supports the plunger rod assembly by a non-threaded engagement integral with the stop. According to one aspect, the screw member is free to rotate within the lumen.
