An instrument for locating an axis of a blocking screw is disclosed. Theinstrument isapplicable for a retrograde installation of a femoral intramedullary device oran antegradeinstallation of a tibial intramedullary device. The instrument includes adrill jig with aradiolucent frame portion and a mounting portion. The mounting portion isadapted to connectto an intramedullary device, and the frame portion has at least one aperturefor locating the axisof the blocking screw. The drill jig is adjustable to locate the aperture in alongitudinal orrotational direction relative to the intramedullary device.
