PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure processing apparatus that is miniaturizable and manufacturable at low cost, and even upon the occurrence of accident such as a rupture of a pressure vessel, the debris of the pressure vessel and a lid is not scattered to surroundings, so that a safe state can be kept having sufficient safety measures and superior practicality.SOLUTION: The high pressure processing apparatus includes: the pressure vessel 3 having the lid 2 that opens and closes a taking-out opening 1 a closed lid holding unit 4 for holding a state of a closed state of the lid 2 when the lid 2 is pressed in the open lid direction by a pressure increase in the pressure vessel 3 and a receiving unit 5 for receiving the closed lid holding unit 4 pressed by the lid 2.
