The invention relates to a therapy device (10) for producing electromagnetic oscillations which has a frequency generator unit (12). The frequency generator unit (12) comprises a frequency generator (24) for producing alternating voltage, a first electrode output (26) for connecting a first electrode (39), and a second electrode output (28) for connecting a second electrode (39). The frequency generator (24) has a voltage output (40), to which the alternating voltage produced by the frequency generator (24) is applied. The frequency generator (24) also has a neutral output (42), which is electrically neutral. The first electrode output (26) is connected to the voltage output (40), and the second electrode output (28) is connected to the neutral output (42). The invention further relates to a method for controlling a therapy device (10) comprising a first frequency generator (24) and a second frequency generator (24).
