According to one embodiment, the application relates to a documenting system (100) for care and/or nursing work. The system includes at least one network device (110) which is adapted to communicate by a data transfer element (214) over a communications network (102) in the system, to establish by a processor element (212) a user interface (111) for the system, to receive by the data transfer element from a user device (130) at least one piece of vital information related to a patient (104) and delivered by means of the user interface, to store by the processor element the at least one received piece of vital information and to present a user device with the at least one piece of vital information stored by the processor element and delivered by means of the user interface. The user interface is accessible by means of the user device's web browser and the user interface displays documentation tools for each piece of vital information. The user interface displays setup tools for a video link, said setup tools enabling a reception of real-time video image over a communication link from at least one video camera (142) installed in a patient's home (106) and a display on the user interface of each video image communicated by the video camera (142).
