The present invention relates to improvements in neurological and neuropsychological therapeutic treatments using acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. More particularly, the present invention allows the effects of the reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor donepezil to be enhanced by certain molecules, referred to herein as connexin blockers.
