A vertical greening module (10) for the arrangement of plants is provided. In one alternative it comprises a back wall (12), at least one support element (16), which is positioned or positionable in a distance to said back wall (12), and a plant holding device (20). Said back wall (12) comprises a front surface (30) facing towards said support element (16). Said plant holding device (20) is supported or supportable on said at least one support element (16). It is furthermore arranged or arrangeable between said back wall (12) and said support element (16) in such a way that it forms a pocket (22) for holding at least one plant. In another alternative, said vertical greening module comprises at least one side wall (14), in particular two side walls (14), for holding at least one support element (16), wherein said side wall (14) comprises a fixing section (15) for fixing said side wall to a front surface (30) of an external structure, e.g. a wall. It further comprising said at least one support element (16), which is held or holdable by said side wall (14), and a plant holding device (20), wherein said plant holding device (20) is supported or supportable on said at least one support element (16), and said plant holding device (20) is arranged or arrangeable between said support element (16) and said external structure in such a way that it forms a pocket (22) for holding at least one plant.
