PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide purification rolling elements capable of appropriately reaching to each of sections in an upper water tank of a cooling tower, physically breaking scales, being integrally combined with anti-alga agent or the like to cause them to be properly dispersed in the water tank, appropriately taking a countermeasure against scales and alga, reducing troublesome maintenance work for the cooling tower and simultaneously further improving cooling capability for the cooling tower.SOLUTION: Hard rolling elements 1 are freely moved within an upper water tank 51 of a cooling tower 50 along with water flow within the water tank. Hard surfaces of the rolling elements 1 are contacted with or struck against each of the sections in the water tank, so that scales started to adhere to the bottom part of the water tank can be broken through their contact at a quite initial stage and removed. The scales can be removed at early stage without being grown up to such a size as one producing small pieces to clog some holes at the bottom part of the upper water tank 51 and so it is always possible to keep a state in which water flows down from the upper water tank 51 toward a heat exchanger while keeping the released state of the holes.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】 冷却塔上部水槽内の各部に適切に到達してスケールを物理的に破砕可能であると共に、殺藻剤等を一体化されてこれらも水槽内に適切に拡散させられ、スケールと藻に対する対策が適切に行え、冷却塔に対するメンテナンスの手間を低減させられると同時に冷却塔のさらなる冷却能力の向上も図れる浄化用転動体を提供する。【解決手段】 冷却塔50の上部水槽51内で硬質の転動体1を水槽内の水流に任せて水槽内で自由に動き回らせ、水槽内各部に転動体1の硬い表面を接触あるいは衝突させることから、水槽底等に付着し始めたスケール分をごく初期段階で接触により破砕して除去できることとなり、上部水槽51底部の孔を塞ぐような小片が生じるほどにスケールを成長させることなく早期に除去でき、孔の開放状態を保って上部水槽51から熱交換部へ水の流下する状態を常に維持できる。【選択図】 図3
