A process for reduction and/or removal of FXI and FXIa from a source solution containing said coagulation factors and as main components immunoglobulins comprising the following steps: a) contacting the FXI and/or FXIa containing solution with an affinity chromatographic gel wherein heparin or heparan is linked to the matrix material； b) allowing adsorption of FXI and/or FXIa and c)separation of the liquid deprived of FXI and/or FXIa from the adsorption media.La présente invention concerne un procédé de réduction et/ou d'extraction de FXI et de FXIa d'une solution source contenant lesdits facteurs de coagulation en tant que principaux composants d'immunoglobulines. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes suivantes, consistant à : a) mettre en contact la solution contenant le FXI et/ou le FXIa avec un gel de chromatographie d'affinité, de l'héparine ou de l'héparane étant lié au matériau de matrice ； b) permettre l'adsorption du FXI et/ou du FXIa et c) séparer le liquide dépourvu de FXI et/ou de FXIa du milieu d'adsorption.
