PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tablet printing device and tablet printing method which can reduce the distortion of a print image due to a fluctuation in an interval between a nozzle and a tablet.SOLUTION: A tablet printing device holds reference data indicating the correspondence between the gap from a nozzle 81 to the surface of a tablet 9 and the size of an ink droplet Ik1 to be discharged from the nozzle 81. The tablet printing device calculates the gap from the nozzle 81a discharging the ink droplet Ik1 to the surface of the tablet 9 on the basis of the shape data of the tablet 9, and causes the plurality of nozzles 81a to discharge the ink droplets I1 in the sizes corresponding to the respective gaps by referring to the reference data.
