PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable absorbent article capable of efficiently enlarging a volume of bodily waste to be absorbed and kept therein.SOLUTION: A liquid absorbing pad 1 includes a surface sheet 2 located on a side to face the skin, a rear surface sheet 3 located on the other side, and a liquid absorbing structure 10 provided between the surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3. The liquid absorbing structure 10 has two layers of a first and a second absorbent layer 21, 41, which are overlapped each other. The first absorbent layer 21 (having an existing area 24 in which an absorbent polymer particle exists and a non-existing area 25) is arranged on the side to face the skin, and the second absorbent layer 41 (including an absorbent fiber 19 and the absorbent polymer particle and forming a high-density area 44 in which the absorbent fibers 19 are dense and a low-density area 45) is arranged on the other side.
