PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fundus imaging apparatus which facilitates work for imaging an ocular fundus.
SOLUTION: An illumination optical system 511 of the fundus imaging apparatus 500 projects light to the ocular fundus Ef by switching between observation illumination light LO and imaging illumination light LP. An imaging optical system 514 has an imaging device 515 which receives the observation illumination light LO and light LO, LP from the fundus reflecting the imaging illumination light LP and outputs a signal. A display part 540 displays an image of the ocular fundus Ef from the signals. A light intensity determining part 530 determines the light intensity (imaging light intensity) of the imaging illumination light LP from the light intensity (observation light intensity) of the observation illumination light LO projected to the ocular fundus Ef. Particularly, the light intensity determining part 530 determines the imaging light intensity with reference to light intensity information 531a stored in a storage part 531 in advance. A control part 520 controls the illumination optical system 511 (an imaging light source 513) to project the imaging illumination light LP of the imaging light intensity determined by the part 530 to the ocular fundus Ef upon instructions for imaging by an examiner.
