PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetation unit and a greening method each enabling rapidly and easily constructing on an artificial base of a rooftop or a roof of a building, suppressing damage of a vegetation base to the minimum even without performing special maintenance, hardly letting sedum wither and contributing to greening promotion under normal environment. SOLUTION: This greening method comprises establishing through a root prevention sheet on an artificial base a vegetation base having uneven parts on the surface, containing temperature sensing water absorption drainage resin and comprising a continuous foam type of porous body or a fiber compression formed body, and planting raised plants of Sedum on recessed parts on the surface of the vegetation base.
