Embodiments of a loading of a body part, such as the foot, are disclosed. In some embodiments, an apparatus for monitoring load bearing of a foot, the apparatus includes a housing formed from a substantially flexible and conformable material, the housing sized and configured to be attached to the foot, the housing defining an interior volume, a sensor positioned in the interior volume, the sensor configured to provide data associated with strain on the housing as a result of loading of the foot, and a controller positioned in the interior volume, the controller configured to, based on the data associated with the strain on the housing produced by the sensor, determine and provide indication that the foot is loaded.
