PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excrement decomposition material which can increase decomposition amount of excrement and has lengthened duration of usage, and to provide an excrement decomposition method.SOLUTION: The excrement decomposition material uses a microorganism-implanted woody material, wherein the woody material is woody waste containing a tree or bark produced at a chipping process of paper pulp production and the woody waste has a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.9 g/cm. The excrement decomposition method uses the excrement decomposition material.【課題】処理できる排泄物分解処理量を増大させ、使用期間を長くする排泄物分解処理材を提供し、またその排泄物分解処理方法を提供することである。【解決手段】微生物を着床した木質材を用いた排泄物分解処理材において、木質材が製紙パルプ製造のチップ化工程で発生する樹木または樹皮を含有する木質系廃棄物であって、木質系廃棄物の嵩密度が、０．１～０．９ｇ／ｃｍ３であることを特徴とする排泄物分解処理材及び該排泄物分解処理材を用いた排泄物分解処理方法によって達成される。【選択図】なし
