PURPOSE: A sonograph for measuring an image angle and a method for operating a sonograph are provided to exactly measure an image angle by automatically measuring and displaying the angle of a figure template in consideration of the reference position of an image. CONSTITUTION: A display part(103) displays the image of an scanned object in a human body on a screen. The display part displays the angle of a figure template which is measured with a measuring part(109). A controlling part(107) generates the figure template including a first and a second straight line which creates the angle corresponding to an image. The controlling part controls the figure template which is generated in consideration of the reference position of an image.
