Provided herein are polysaccharide derivatives substituted (a) at a degree of substitution (DS1) of at least 0.05 by a fluo-rescent group (FG) comprising a mono or polycyclic ring system comprising at least one heteroatom selected from N, O and S and conjugated double bonds, and having an absorption band in the UV region of light and an emission band in the visible region of light, and a bonded via a first linker to any one of the native functional groups of the polysaccharide repeating units； and (b) at a degree of substitution (DS2) ) of at least 0.05 by a charged group (CG) bonded via a second linker to any one of the native functional groups of the polysaccharide repeating units.L'invention concerne des dérivés de polysaccharide substitués (a) à un degré de substitution (DS1) d'au moins 0,05 par un groupe fluorescent (FG) comprenant un système d'anneau monocyclique ou polycyclique comprenant au moins un hétéro-atome choisi parmi N, O et S et des liaisons doubles conjuguées, et ayant une bande d'absorption dans la région UV de lumière et une bande d'émission dans la région visible de lumière, et lié par l'intermédiaire d'un premier lieur à l'un quelconque des groupes fonctionnels natifs des unités de répétition de polysaccharide ； et (b) à un degré de substitution (DS2) d'au moins 0,05 par un groupe chargé (CG) lié par l'intermédiaire d'un second lieur à l'un quelconque des groupes fonctionnels natifs des unités de répétition de polysaccharide.
