The invention provides a water filter (1) for an aquarium, comprising a housing (2) in a form of an open at the top container of a canister type, with side walls (5) and filtration cartridges positioned inside it. The filter (1) encompasses also a removable (3) cover secured to the housing (2), which is provided with ports (9', 10') of water inlet (9) and water outlet (10) arrangements as well as a priming arrangement. The cover (3) has a formed therein chamber of a roughing filter (12) which is covered by a lid (13) positioned within the cover (3).L'invention concerne un filtre à eau (1) pour un aquarium, comportant un boîtier (2) sous la forme d'une ouverture au niveau du contenant supérieur de type cartouche, avec des parois latérales (5) et des cartouches de filtration positionnées à l'intérieur de celui-ci. Le filtre (1) comporte également un couvercle amovible (3) fixé au boîtier (2), qui est doté d'orifices (9', 10') d'agencements d'entrée d'eau (9) et de sortie d'eau (10) ainsi qu'un agencement d'amorçage. Le couvercle (3) comprend une chambre formée à l'intérieur d'un filtre dégrossisseur (12) qui est recouvert par un couvercle (13) positionné à l'intérieur du couvercle (3).
