PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop and provide a milk production-improving agent for ruminants as a pharmaceutical for ameliorating and improving milk production of the ruminants after postpartum.
SOLUTION: Provided is a method for improving and enhancing milk production of ruminants by administration of the milk production-improving agent containing difructose anhydride III (DFAIII), and/or difructose anhydride IV (DFAIV) as an active ingredient. DFAIII and DFAIV are not decomposed in the stomach of ruminants, and particularly effective in increasing milk production of dairy cows.
