PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient means for electronic technological storing and calling of calibration information relating to a catheter.
SOLUTION: A probe assembly 18 for connecting to a console 34 includes: a probe 20 which is for inserting into a subjects body and has a distal end and a proximal end, and has a microcircuit for storing information relating to the probe and a cable 21 for connecting the probe 20 to the console 34, and having an access circuit for accessing the microcircuit in the probe 20, wherein information relating to the probe 20 has user related information of the probe and using codes for controlling usability of the probe for a user.
