PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray imaging apparatus for irradiating only a region of interest with X rays to reconstruct an X-ray tomographic image of the region of interest.SOLUTION: The X-ray imaging apparatus for irradiating a subject with X-rays from an X-ray source at a plurality of different angles to capture a plurality of X-ray images and reconstructing the X-ray tomographic image from the plurality of the X-ray images includes: a region setting means for setting the region of interest on a pre-shot image or a previously captured X-ray tomographic image an imaging control means for continuously varying an aperture formed by collimator blades in accordance with a position of the X-ray source to image the region of interest and acquiring projection data of the plurality of X-ray images in accordance with respective positions of the X-ray source and an image reconstruction means for reconstructing the X-ray tomographic image from the projection data of the plurality of X-ray images of the region of interest.
