PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for titanium or a titanium alloy dispensing with a consideration to a bond force between a substrate and apatite which becomes a problem in thermal spraying, taking a little time for depositing the apatite on a material surface and being expectant for early-stage synostosis in an organism.

SOLUTION: The surface treatment method for improving biocompatibility to the titanium or titanium alloy is characterized in to dip the titanium or titanium alloy in 5-100 m mol/L calcium chloride or calcium acetate solution at 120-250°C for 1-48 hours. It is preferable that the titanium alloy contains palladium or platinum.
