PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sealing a puncture extending through a wall of a blood vessel disposed at the end part of a tissue tract.SOLUTION: A device 1 for sealing a puncture extending through a wall of a blood vessel comprises: a shaft 40 with a proximal end and a distal end a mechanically expandable structure 46 in the vicinity of the distal end of the shaft and a carrier disposed on an external surface of the shaft more proximally than the mechanically expandable structure.
