The present invention is in the field of plant extracts suitable for the use in food, food products or additives for providing a vascular health benefit, and for oral and topical functional benefits. It is therefore object of the present invention to provide a highly active extract from the Inula racemosa (Pushkarmool) for providing a vasodilation and microcirculation benefit. It is a further object to provide active NO potentiating extracts of Inula racemosa with a low level of isoalentolactone, compared to known hexane extracts. It has now been found that an extract of plant material from Inula Racemosa with a solvent with a hydrogen bonding parameter of between 4 and 15, gives higher nitric oxide (NO) production and better vasodilation with less isoalantolactone in the extract.La présente invention concerne le domaine des extraits végétaux adaptés à une utilisation dans les aliments, les produits alimentaires ou les additifs alimentaires dans le but d'obtenir des effets favorables pour la santé sur le plan vasculaire ainsi que des bénéfices fonctionnels en administration orale et topique. La présente invention a par conséquent pour objet un extrait hautement actif d'Inula Racemosa (Pushkarmool) permettant d'obtenir des bénéfices en termes de vasodilatation et de microcirculation. Un autre objet de la présente invention est de produire des extraits actifs d'Inula Racemosa ayant un effet de potentialisation vis-à-vis du NO avec un faible niveau d'isoalantolactone, par comparaison avec des produits connus obtenus par extraction à l'hexane. On a découvert qu'un extrait de matière végétale d'Inula Racemosa avec un solvant présentant un paramètre de liaison hydrogène compris entre 4 et 15 donne une production d'oxyde nitrique (NO) plus élevée et une meilleure vasodilatation avec une teneur en isoalantolactone moindre dans l'extrait.
